Mothers Union
Anglican Mothers Union Australia
AMUA is often fondly referred to as MU and our local branch is the Aspley-Albany Creek Branch. We meet monthly at the church and all are welcome, not just mothers.
We are part of a worldwide fellowship of Christians united in prayer and worship, and a missionary agency of the Anglican Church of Australia. A very informative website www.mothersunion.org.au provides details about our organisation and its various activities in Australia.
Our AMUA Branch has eight members and during the past year we have supported official AMUA activities in the Brisbane Diocese. Last year, through generous donations of parishioners, AMUA Brisbane Diocese was able to send almost $15 000 to AMUA in the Pacific Islands for disaster relief and $6000 was donated to emergency flood relief in Australia.
Other support was given to Brisbane Seafarers Mission, bursaries were awarded to students at St Francis College to assist with fees and fresh start baskets were supplied to women and men leaving shelters.
Our organisation has members in some 68 countries across the globe and you are welcome to join.
Meeting
Our meetings are informal, on the second Monday of the month at 1.00pm.
Mothering Sunday and All Souls Remembrance Service
In our Branch, we have gathered regularly for fellowship and we have invited family and parishioners to social outings. We have provided assistance in the Parish, especially for Mothering Sunday and the All Souls Remembrance Service.
Baptism
We thank Jelita for her continued support of Baptism families.
