Containers for Change
Your containers can make a difference.
Recycling your reclaimable containers is not only good for the environment – it’s also good for the parish budget. The parish receives 10c for every eligible container that we collect.
The parish has earned $587.50 and saved 5,875 containers from landfill. Simply bring in your reclaimable containers and put them in the box provided in the Narthex. Or take your own reclaimables to a container refund point and provide the Parish’s Member Number C10155769.
• Envirobank—Aspley Hypermarket
• TOMRA Kiosk—Carseldine
• TOMRA Kiosk—Albany Creek Centreal
• Envirobank—Bracken Ridge
Your refund will then be deposited directly into the parish’s bank account. Most aluminium, glass, plastic, steel and liquid paperboard drink containers between 150ml and 3L are eligible. Look for the 10c refund mark on containers, to be sure. For more information about the parish’s Containers for Change initiative, please speak with Jelita Hutchison or Fr Nicholas.
The scheme was designed to reduce the volume of drink container litter that enters the environment and help improve Queensland’s recycling rate. Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice; let the sea roar, and all that fills it; let the field exult, and everything in it. Then shall all the trees of the forest sing for joy before the Lord; Psalm 96:11-12
