The Reverend Nicki Colledge is locally born and raised. She is married to Richard and has two daughters Sophia and Naomi. Nicki is currently the full-time School Chaplain at St Margaret’s Anglican Girls School, Ascot. It is a day and boarding school from Pre-Prep to year 12 and Nicki has pastoral responsibility for all students, staff, past students and families.
After an Arts degree at the University of Queensland, Nicki studied to become a Secondary Teacher of English, Geography and Religious Education through the Australian Catholic University in 1993. It was her first teaching position, in the boarding school environment at St Hilda’s Anglican Girls School, where her call to ministry became clear. When she began at St Francis’ Theological College in 1997, she also began teaching at St Paul’s School, Bald Hills. She officially became Chaplain of St Paul’s in 2000.
In 1999/2000, Nicki and her husband travelled and studied further in both Durham, England and Leuven, Belgium. Whilst in Belgium, she worked alongside the priest in the parish of St Martha and Mary of Bethany in Leuven. As a university town, this gave a variety of experiences and challenges. Nicki was ordained as Deacon in August 2000 then Priest in December 2000.
In 2007 she began at St Margaret’s Anglican Girls School as Chaplain and maintains as much connection with the Church of the Resurrection at Aspley as possible. She has a passion for exploring how liturgy and spiritual experience is both shared and encountered with people of all ages and faith journeys.
Nicki has Masters degrees in both Theology and Education and is an Examining Chaplain for the Anglican Church of Southern Queensland.
