Lent 4 Year A Learning to see, to perceive
In this sermon we delight in the news that God sees not because of good looks or smart clothes or any other superficial bling. No God sees the heart.
The story of Samuel choosing one of Jesse's sons open that notion up.
In the story of the man born blind in John's Gospel we see that perceptions can create blindness. The religious leaders fail to see who Jesus is in spite of having good eye sight.
The invitation is for us firstly to see signs of God's presence and work in our everyday life. And secondly to practices Spiritual disciplines that help to remove our Spiritual blindness.
