HOLIDAY ART DAY FOR CHILDREN OF ALL AGES
The Church of the Resurrection Anglican parish, Aspley-Albany Creek,30 Ridley Rd, Bridgman Downs, will be holding a children’s art day on 29th of September. Families can come and spend time with the kids making art, from 11 – 1pm, then share a BYO lunch together. It should be a relaxed and happy day. All ages from are welcome to join in the art activities, but we need an adult to work with children under 10.
There will be a small tabletop press, that is super easy to operate. I can show the kids (and parent) 2 easy types of monoprints and how to transfer photocopied images, which can be collaged or combined with other media (see image below). There will also be stamping and some kinetic printmaking for the more active children if they can’t settle to the other activities.
It can be a bit messy and while all the materials used are watersoluble and nontoxic, they are not necessarily completely washable. We have coveralls for the smaller children, but please bring protective clothing (an old shirt, large Tshirt) for older children.
We will be doing image transfer. I will have my scanner and printer, so the kids can bring favourite pictures along to incorporate into their prints. It can be their own artwork, photos, or illustrations.
RSVP Phone: 0423030325, firstname.lastname@example.org (please text or email rather than ring, as I can’t answer the phone during working hours). RSVP important to allow for planning of materials.
Print by Alexandra, using watercolour pencils and photocopy transfer from book illustration, using the press.
Happy printers using my large press in the old studio.
